Maitencillo House by Jonas Retamal

Architect Jonas Retamal from Chile designed a house made entirely from wood. The house dubbed Maintencillo is located at the ocean coast in the Valparaíso region of Chile. The entire project is very minimalistic. The house has two parts, the main one housing living and bedroom areas was built above the other part housing a storage room and a garage. The initial idea of the architect was to design a house that is connected with the nature and demonstrates it not only by its exterior but its interior as well. He used wood that has natural rough look with a simple polish cover, si it preserves its natural light color, alights the interior and creates a fresh and cosy atmosphere. The house was furnished mostly by wooden furniture, of course. Large windows provide a beautiful view at the beach, ocean and enable the natural sunlight to enter the interior. Jonas Retamal created building that communicates with its local surroundings and completely fits in.
